“This is the time of fulfillment. The kingdom of God is at hand. Repent, and believe in the gospel”. This is not the message anyone wants to hear, but it is the truth that we need to hear. Jesus called the first four disciples, Simon and Andrew, James and John. They immediately dropped their nets to follow Jesus. They did not know where this call would lead them, but they trusted Jesus. He told them, “Come after me, and I will make you fishers of men.”
Just like Jonah, Simon, Andrew, James and John, Jesus is calling you and me by name. He invites us to follow Him. He calls us to repent from our sins and change our lives. He invites us into a deep, personal relationship with Him. At some point, He will send us out to share the same message with others. The Good News is not meant to end with us; but it is meant to be shared. “Come after me, and I will make you fishers of men.”
