The prophet Malachi tells the people that they have "wearied" the Lord with their words. For examples of those wearisome words, the prophet adds, "By saying, 'All who do evil are good in the sight of the LORD, and he delights in them.'" Or by asking, "Where is the God of justice?" These are not so much direct quotations as expressions of typical attitudes among the people. Some acted as though God considered evil to be good, or as though there was no justice in God's world.
